    UTS-HCMUT Research School 2020

    Over the last 10 years, technology has completely revolutionised every aspect of life with brilliant contributions to our society. Modern technology supplies us with amazing resources that alter the way we live our everyday lives. However, along with that are serious concerns about influences of emerging technologies on the environment, and on the security, health and culture of our society. In order to achieve a smart, healthy and secure society, there is an urgent need for the development of enabling technologies in many areas such as robotics, communications, security, big data analytics, signal processing, business models, risk management, brain-computer interaction and artificial intelligence.

    The University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCMUT), and University of Engineering & Technology (VNU-UET) are pleased to announce the Research School 2020 on “Enabling Technologies for Smart and Secure Society” (RS2020). RS2020 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on 7-8 May 2020 at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The aim of RS2020 is to address a high level of interest and introduce latest developments in future industry enabling technologies to students and researchers in Vietnam and to foster the exchange of ideas and PhD training opportunities.

    Distinguished professors from UTS, VNU-HCMUT and VNU-UET will deliver lectures on IoT, blockchain, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data/video analytics, and semiconductor technologies. There will be a Student Poster Competition on the research of student participants.

    Who should Attend?

    The target audience includes instructors, researchers and engineers, senior undergraduate students, graduate students (MSc, PhD students), and PhD students with scholarships to study abroad.

    Upon successful completion of RS2020, the most outstanding students will be recommended for PhD research scholarships under the Joint Technology and Innovation Research Centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

    Financial Support

    40 travel grants towards covering travel and accommodation expenses will be available to qualified applicants who are based outside of Ho Chi Minh city. The value of the travel grant will be announced to successful applicants by 10 April 2020.
