We present in this project a construction of cost-effective microprocessor-controlled wireless portable multi-function monitoring devices for continuous collection of basic water data which include surface salinity, temperature, GPS coordinates, and metal ion concentration. The devices will be equipped with special probes materials for better sensing of sensitivity and selectivity of ion concentration. It is not necessary to restate about the importance of collecting salinity intrusion data for a country facing increased salinization like Viet Nam.
We propose the sensor device in the form of floating ball which includes inside the sensing probes for direct temperature and conductivity measurement as well as probe for detection of small impedance or susceptibility variations. The GSM technology is integrated for wireless transmission of collected data.
