Karim Abed-Meraim was born in 1967. He received the State Engineering Degree from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, France, in1990, the State Engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris, in 1992, the M.Sc. degree from Paris XI University, Orsay, France, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in signal processing and communications from the ENST in 1995.
From1995 to 1998, he was a Research Fellow with the Department of Electrical Engineering,University of Melbourne, where he worked on research project related to “Blind System Identification for Wireless Communications” and “Array Processing for Communications.” From 1998 to 2012, he was an Assistant and then Associate Professor with the Signal and Image Processing Department, Telecom-ParisTech. In September 2012, he joined the PRISME Lab, University of Orléans, as a Full Professor. He was a Visiting Scholar with the Centre of Wireless Communications, National University of Singapore, in 1999, with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) in 2001, with the Telecom Malaysia Research and Development Centre in 2004, with the School of Engineering and Mathematics, Edith Cowan University (Perth, Australia) in 2004, with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, National University of Singapore in 2006, with the University of Sharjah (UAE) in 2008–2009, and with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Saudi Arabia) in 2013 and 2014.
He has authored about 400 scientific publications including book chapters, international journal and conference papers, and patents. His research interests include statistical signal processing with applications to communications, system identification, adaptive filtering and tracking, radar and array processing, biomedical signal processing, and statistical performance analysis.
