Neurodegeneration is a general term for the loss of structure or function of neurons, including neuronal death. Various neurodegenerative diseases arise from neurodegenerative processes, including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and multiple sclerosis (MS). Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant contributions to the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

The workshop “Neurodegeneration and Artificial Intelligence” serves as a forum for discussing AI applications in neurodegenerative diseases in particular and in medicine in general. Specifically, the workshop aims to foster collaborative research applications between doctors, medical professionals, and scientists from hospitals and medical universities in Vietnam with scientists from the VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU University of Engineering and Technology, and Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium, as well as other related partners.

This workshop also contributes to advancing VNU’s key research project, code QGCT.23.02, on “Research and Application of Science and Technology to Enhance the Capacity for Diagnosing and Treating Diseases and Developing Products from Medicinal Plants at Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
