    Title:

Collaborative Learning Model for Cyberattack Detection Systems in IoT Industry 4.0

    Speaker:

Tran Viet Khoa, Advanced Institute of Engineering and Technology, UET, VNU

    Time: 15:30, Tuesday, December 10, 2019
Venue: G2-315, 144 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay, Hanoi

    ABSTRACT:

Industry 4.0, known as the fourth industrial revolution, is a vision of smart factories developed based on intelligent cyber-physical systems. It greatly boosts the development of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, which includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet-of-things (IoT) and cloud computing. These technologies immediately impact various sectors, such as manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, finance. However, when connected to the cyber world, cybersecurity risks become a key concern due to open systems with IP addresses creating more avenues for cyberattacks. Security challenges specific to Industry 4.0 are due to the enormous complexity in managing information, increased connectivity, decentralized control and real-time decision of manufacturing systems. Conventional cybersecurity techniques are not enough to protect users from cyberattacks, requiring higher-level methodologies. In this study, we try to develop a cyberattack detection based on federated learning to analyze the network in different locations. In this way, not only the detection accuracy is improved, but our proposed system also can significantly reduce the information disclosure as well as network traffic in exchanging data among the IoT gateways.

    BIOGRAPHY:

Tran Viet Khoa completed B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Vietnam National University (VNU) in 2008. He received M. Sc degree of Paris-sud 11, France in 2010, in a joint program between VNU and France. After that, he has eight years working as a network engineer in two largest telecommunication companies in Vietnam – EVN Telecom and Viettel Network Corporation about networking and security systems. Now he has been a Ph.D. student at VNU- UET since June 2019. His research interests include IoT, Deep learning, Cyberattack detection.
