    ABSTRACT

In this talk, we focus on a brief introduction of neuroscience on several mental disorders, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s Disease. We will first review common brain regions and neurotransmitters implicated in these disorders. We will then characterize each disorder and provide leading hypotheses on the pathogenesis of each disorder, including dysfunctions in the neural circuitries and potential interactions between genes and the environment.
